Who knew at the start of the 2015-2016 NFL season that the Panthers, led by QB Cam Newton, would be among the ranks of the unbeaten heading into week 5. That being said, here’s a guy that has helped get them there and a guy you should look to add on your fantasy team.
Ted Ginn Jr., the veteran WR, is a guy you need to look out for. With 3 TDs through the first 4 games, Ginn has become a reliable target for Newton. His 3 TD catches this season has already surpassed his goose egg of TD catches last year with the Cardinals and is sure to pass his career high of 5 TD catches back in 2013. According to ESPN Fantasy Football, just about 32% of the teams have Ginn on their roster, making him relatively easy to pick up in free agency. In addition to this, the Panthers have the Seahawks, Eagles and Colts coming up on their schedule, all of which are teams that have had trouble stopping the pass attack.
With TE Greg Olsen getting most of the attention from the secondary of opposing teams, look for Ted Ginn to use his speed and veteran savvy to pick apart defenses in the future. Remember, this is a guy that ran a 4.28 40 yard dash at the NFL combine back in 07′ and he’s proven he still possess some of that daunting speed.
This past Sunday, Ginn caught two TD passes for the first time in his career and Newton is starting to look to him as a 1 or 2 option in the passing game.
The Panthers are on an upward trend and as Ginn and Newton continue to strengthen their chemistry, the sky is the limit for this crew. Go out and pick this guy up before its too late.
